Why is it called “Green Belt” and “Black Belt”? What does this training have to do with martial arts?
It’s believed the terms originated when Dr. Mikel Harry, who was working at the Salt Lake City Unisys Printed Circuit Facility, was trying to come up with a better name than “Process Characterization Experts”. Black Belt certainly rolls off the tongue a little better!
